Business and Career Coaching
Dr. King provides business and career coaching for clinicians and academics interested in building a meaningful and profitable online business either as a side hustle or a next career move (e.g., online courses, groups, or coaching/consultation practice). She also consults with people interested in podcasting, careers in psychology, higher education, writing, or fellow multipassionate professionals trying to find a way to juggle many interests in a fulfilling and bespoke career path.
Clinical Supervision and Consultation
Dr. King provides individual or group supervision for psychologists, counselors, and other mental health clinicians. Topics may include geropsychology, ethics, gender/sex/relationship diversity, teaching methods for early career academics, evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy, burnout prevention, and general professional development. Sessions are available via HIPAA-secure video conferencing, telephone, or in person.
Courses and Workshops
Events can be tailored to the needs of the audience and range in size, scope, and method of delivery. Topics may include mindfulness, meditation, narrative medicine and medical humanities, burnout prevention, geropsychology-related topics, ethics, and general psychotherapist professional development.
Psychological Testing
Dr. King conducts cognitive and personality assessment for adults and older adults. Referral questions she can answer include clarification of differential diagnosis, informing psychotherapy treatment planning, defining cognitive strengths and weaknesses, establishing a baseline of cognitive functioning, and enhancing self-understanding. She does not provide assessment for educational settings, disability-related evaluations, complete neuropsychological assessment batteries, nor forensic testing.
Psychotherapy
Kate's clinical practice focuses on treating adults and older adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, caregiver stress, chronic and acute health conditions, relationship concerns, and adjustment to retirement. She provides individual, couple, and adult family psychotherapy utilizing primarily cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Kate is not currently accepting new psychotherapy clients.
